This photo from 2008 was taken by the Brazilian government in an effort to bring awareness to the 60+ Amazonian Tribes that currently live detached from modern society. I believe this is an interesting contemporary take on the "Blind" photo we were introduced to last class. Just as with the photo from last class, this photo captures people naturally and objectively. In this case, the reaction is hostile toward something they do not understand: a helicopter hovering overhead. Furthermore, the concept of photography is foreign to them so the ability to capture them objectively is natural. Whereas typical subjects understand what photography is and are therefore photographed with pretensions, these subjects have none. This gives this photograph similar value to "Blind."
